The Nudge: The Ultimate Upcycle – take a vintage sheared beaver coat and a vintage hand muff and pair them with current denim jeans and white patent leather booties for a very up-to-date, modern look.
So what does upcycle even mean? My definition of upcycle is to take something vintage (old) and repurpose it into something useful or beautiful. It’s really the same thing as recycling, but for clothes.
I found this sheared beaver fur coat at a Parisienne flea market years ago, and I found the vintage handbag muff at a consignment store. I adore both. Nothing keeps your hands warmer than a fur muff!
The quality of vintage items, in general, far exceed anything you could buy today. I hate to see a quality vintage piece thrown out or never worn. If you are interested in buying a fabulous vintage fur, the only advice I would give you is to make sure the skin isn’t dried out by looking for holes or splits in the fur. I find them at vintage stores, eBay, garage sales and consignment stores.
