The Tell: I’m a sucker for Stripes. I just can’t help myself when it comes to buying anything with Stripes.
Stripes are classic, but very versatile. They can be paired with solids, patterns, and prints. Think of them as a neutral and play with what you have in your wardrobe. Pair Stripes with items you would never think of – like a floral skirt, a herringbone blazer or a pair of leopard pants.
Coco Chanel was the first person to introduce stripes into mainstream fashion. She took at trip to the French Riviera and discovered the Breton navy and white work shirt, which was being worn by the marina workers during the 1930’s.
