The Nudge: It’s good to look into the Mirror, Mirror On The Wall every so often.
I just arrived home from a little getaway with my two daughters, Lindsey and Olivia (my photographer). It was a special time that I will treasure forever. Making memories is what truly counts in this life.
I had intended to return with several outfit photos for the blog, but instead I found myself shying away from the camera. I listened to that little, but loud voice that kept saying, take a rest. So, I had fun behind the camera focusing the lens on my daughters and what they wore.
I was totally focused on being present for my daughters. How often do we have time to be with the people we love without our everyday distractions? We were fortunate to have a week where we could pretty much do nothing together – we shared meals, conversation, time in the sun, and lots of laughter. Is there anything better for the soul?
I rarely get time for serious reflection, to find that much needed pause in this fast paced life that we all lead. I took this last week to think, contemplate, ruminate, muse, ponder and reflect. And I feel renewed, refreshed and inspired. I’m still smiling from all the wonderful memories that I now share with my beautiful daughters. Thank you Lindsey and Olivia for all that you give me.
Whenever I can get away to take a break, I always bring a very special book and it never disappoints. It’s called, “A Gift From The Sea” by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. It’s a book of meditations that were written by Anne during her vacation by the sea. You can’t help but reflect while reading it. It is a gift to whoever reads it.
