It’s all in the wrist… I’m a minimalist when it comes to wearing jewelry everyday. Usually, I only wear a watch and simple earrings, but when I have a special event I like to wear more jewelry, especially bracelets.
I have collected vintage jewelry for years. Some has come from my mother and grandmother, and some I’ve found at flea markets and vintage stores. It’s very difficult to find modern costume jewelry that even comes close to the quality and workmanship of vintage. I, actually, prefer to buy vintage costume jewelry over modern jewelry (yes, even the real stuff). I just find vintage pieces much more interesting.
My Style Above: Two vintage faux pearl and rhinestone bracelets mixed with a modern faux pearl bracelet and a current Timex watch with a faux crocodile leather band.
So, how do you put together multiple bracelets to enhance your look or to make a bold statement?
There are many ways to create a statement wrist, but one of my favorite is to combine vintage with something current. Although, occasionally I do do all vintage. I also like to throw a watch in the mix just to ground the bracelets. I really don’t have a formula or a method on how to mix wrist accessories. My method is truly one of trial and error. Play with what you have, or when you see something you like on someone else model after them.
My Style: Two vintage faux pearl and rhinestone bracelets paired with feminine vintage watch
Modern watch w/ brown leather band paired with a vintage delicate rhinestone bracelet
Current stainless watch w/gold face paired with a vintage white enamel stretch bracelet
Vintage gold-toned watch paired with a modern asian inspired charm bracelet
Gold wrap cuff w/faux oversized pearl paired with current Hermes white leather wrap bracelet
CVS (yes, the drug store) stretch watch paired with a Forever 21 stretch faux rhinestone bracelet
Hermes orange leather, double wrap watch (ebay).
When I wear a watch with long sleeves I like to wear the watch over the sleeve so you can see the watch. It’s both practical and a stylish.
