These aren’t your grandmother’s readers and that’s why I love them. I wear glasses all the time and I’m always looking for fun and funky pairs, so when Eyebobs approached me about featuring them on the blog, how could I say no?
Julie Allinson, the founder of Eyebobs, started the company in 2001 because she couldn’t find readers that were affordable, high quality, and stylish. Their collections are super unique and buying a pair won’t break the bank. Eyebobs tag line is “eyewear for the irreverant and slightly jaded”. So, if you are looking for a pair of chic readers, want to stand out from the crowd, and would label yourself “slightly jaded”, be sure to check out the great eyewear at Eyebobs. The Nudge: My grandmother had a Pink Powder Puff similar to this one. I have fond memories of going into her room just so I could see it, smell it and touch it. It was so pretty and so feminine. I was drawn to it because of it’s color, it’s softness, it’s powdery smell, and most of all because it was her’s. So, when I came across this Pink Powder Puff top, it reminded me of her and her powder puff. To be able to surround myself in a gigantic Pink Powder Puff was like wrapping my grandmother’s arms around me. I miss her.
“Isn’t it bewildering how inane objects of admired family members haunt, inspire and shape choices we make in our lives long after those objects and people have gone. Makes one wonder what impact those little ‘things’ in our own lives will be another’s inspiration…This is an exact quote from one of my readers, Julie, who commented below. It was so good, I had to incorporate it in my Nudge! CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE
“I’ve always thought the Monopoly board is a good analogy for life. For women 45 and above, whether we live on Park Avenue in New York or rural Middle America, we have reached our Park Place.” -Brenda Coffee, CEO and founder of 1010 Park Place
When Brenda approached me about becoming a style contributor to 1010 Park Place, I was flattered and honored. I don’t consider myself a writer by any stretch, as I told her. But I accepted her offer, and I have to say, I’m loving it! It’s a great challenge. I’m trying to stretch myself into areas where I’m a little uncomfortable. To date, I have contributed three style pieces and I’m looking forward to many more. So, make sure to pop on over to 1010 Park Place to read my piece, White Out, which is all about styling the color white. CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE
I wanted to share with you some of my Blue And White accent pieces that I have throughout my home. Blue and white acccessories act as a neutral, because you can pretty much put them anywhere in your home regardless of the color and decor of a room. Adding blue and white to a room just makes everything more interesting, and it’s somewhat unexpected.

The Nudge: Have you always wanted to be the bell of the ball? All you need is a dramatic statement sleeve, like the bell sleeves I’m wearing. Bell sleeves, which used to only be seen on bohemian blouses, are now seen on all types of tops. This newer take on the bell sleeve is versatile, sophisticated, and so much fun to wear. Be careful though, reaching across the table for the salt and pepper can prove a little tricky! CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE
