The Nudge: Quilted handbags have been a fashion classic since Coco Chanel designed her iconic leather quilted 2.55 “it” bag after WWII. It is thought that she came up with the idea from her love of riding horses as a young girl, when she observed the stable boys wearing quilted materials.
I stumbled onto this quilted, vintage skirt during my annual trek to the Brimfield Flea Market, and what a little gem it is. Today, you can find quilted anything, from shoes to skirts to handbags.
